Slowly, Seraius allowed his hand to uncover her mouth, her ruby lips invitingly parted. Claricia’s mind ran at a million miles a second, but the tightness in her chest vanished at his words. The beast was right. Her father was treating her as if she was made for only furthering his political aspirations and he had no regard for what she wanted. Frankly, she had desired the gladiators for a long time and now that they had presented themselves to her, it would have been impossible to turn them away. After all, for vile brutes, they had impeccable manners.
